THE NEXT COMFORT
EVOLUTION

Specialists in sustainable indoor comfort systems.

OUR MISSION

We empower and challenge our people to delight our customers and co-create the sustainable future of indoor climate comfort.

MAKING HISTORY IN SUSTAINABLE
COMFORT SINCE 1984

In 1984, Cleto Pezzei started the Eurotherm story by believing in the potential of low temperature radiant systems while driving his red van. The increasing demand for this technology allowed the company to expand. In 2010, the e.group was established, bringing together Enetec, which specializes in the production of components for radiant systems, and Eurotherm, which provides technical advice and support for complete indoor climate comfort systems.

OUR
CONTRIBUTION

What will the buildings of the future look like?

Over the next 20 years, buildings will undergo further major changes focused on sustainability and improved energy performance, in line with the new European EPBD.
Europe's goal is to reduce both consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by optimising the energy performance of the building stock through renovation, with the aim of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. Commitments will be phased in over time, but both public and new private buildings will have to move towards zero emissions and renewable energy installations.

Specifically, existing residential buildings will have to be at least energy class E by 1 January 2030, while from 2033 the minimum energy class will be D for all. Instead, new buildings will have to be built to nZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings) standards from 2028. A study by Fraunhofer and Eurac Research on daily CO₂ emissions shows that by using an nZEB solution with a heat pump and radiant system, our daily impact can be 7 times lower compared to the traditional solution of gas boiler and radiators.

From 2024, fossil fuel plants will no longer be eligible. By 2035, natural gas systems will have to be replaced. In this context, radiant systems are seen as an effective solution: a study by the Polytechnic University of Turin has shown how the use of high-efficiency heat pumps combined with radiant systems can significantly improve energy efficiency and thermal comfort.

While the potential for energy savings remains high in all sectors, a particular challenge is posed by buildings, which account for 40% of energy consumption and where 75% of the EU's building stock has poor energy performance. Part of this challenge is addressed by today's proposal to include these two sectors in the future ETS.

STATE OF ORIGIN

Representative buildings built between 1961 and 1975..

Replacement of radiators and gas boiler with radiant panels + reversible heat pump (hot - cold).

Addition of controlled mechanical ventilation (CMV) with heat recovery (70% efficiency).

Photovoltaic system installation (6 kWp to achieve min. 60% coverage).

FINAL STATUS*

Energy class B achieved, without any intervention on the envelope.
